First blog post
My inquiry question is: are workout video games like the wii, really healthy for us? I settled on this topic because I thought it would be interesting. There are a lot of commercials now-a-days for the wii and the x-box kinect that involve physical activity. The wii fit and the dance games seem to be very popular and the commercials tell us that they help get us moving and off of our butts. Some people buy these games to work out and lose some weight so I thought I would be interesting to see if they are actually as great as they are hyped up to be. I expect to find information that supports the fact that they improve our health. Through my research I have found articles that do say that they help burn calories and that they are healthier than playing regular videogames. I also think I will find information that suggest that they aren't as healthy as we think. I have come across some articles that say that they may help you burn calories, it's not as beneficial than working out in the gym. I think these viewpoints are helpful to my topic because it will give me kind of two different sides to the subject. On the issue, I think that the workout videogamess may help us in becoming healthy but I don't think it is as affective as we think they are and I don't think my mind will change that much during the course of the semester.

Interesting topic, Molly Marie. I think this will work really well for our 3-sided essay. You can look at this from many viewpoints, perhaps even from the viewpoint of the companies that make the games and consoles.
